Our owner-operated inns are run by professional innkeepers whose goal is to provide you with a comfortable and unique experience while staying in their facility and the surrounding area. They are knowledgeable of local sites and activities (whether it be the well-known or the little-known which doesn't make the tour books). They are keen to assist you in making your vacation as full or relaxed as you desire.

Some of the strict criteria for membership in NSAUCI will provide an insight into the unique experience awaiting you with any of our members:

Be owner operated, assuring high standards.
Have a minimum of four (4) and maximum of twenty (20) guest rooms- 100% of which must have private washrooms.
Serve breakfast and dinner UNLESS there are suitable dining facilities for dinner available in the immediate area.
Be located in a rural area or town of not more than 10,000 permanent population.
Be historical in architecture, character, or setting, clean and well maintained, providing ambiance and a comfortable atmosphere.

Each of our member inns is operated by entrepreneurial owners who bring their own style to the operation of their historic property. Many guests believe it is the innkeepers as well as the inn that makes for the experience of staying at a country inn.
